“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved.” Ephesians 2:4-5
Two men sit down at a McDonald’s. The first man is alone. He’s angry. The meal he’s about to eat is dinner. Afterwards, he’ll head home to an empty apartment. No one will call. No one cares. The voice in his heart says, “You’re no good. You deserve this.”
The second man is surrounded by three smiling faces and french fries It’s lunch time. but he’s not really there for a meal. It’s play time. It’s family time. The second man is happy. He’s grateful. After lunch, the second man will put his daughters in bed for an afternoon nap. Then he and his wife will watch the move she picked out. He is loved. He is needed. His family cares. The voice in his heart says, “Thank you.”
I know that I deserve to be the first man. But because of God’s grace and the sacrifice of his Son Jesus, I get to be the 2nd man, a new man. If you feel like the first man, Jesus wants to transform you into the 2nd man. He loves you and he has the power to rescue you.
The truest thing about you is that your are deeply loved by the God of the universe. You are his favorite and he’s waiting for you to call. Make the call now.
